K2 science, anywhere, anytime!
K2 is excited for this first KIDLAB experience! K2 will visit KIDLAB throughout the entire year and will come down weekly in small groups to play, explore, build and create.
K2's big theme this year is understanding that science can happen anytime and anywhere and that anyone can be a scientist. When you pick up a rock and ask where it came from, you are being a geologist. When you look at the clouds and predict that it might rain, you are a meteorologist. If you ever care for your sick pet, you are being a zoologist. We do science all the time without even knowing it! During the fall, K2 will learn about the different groups of animals, exploring similarities and differences, noticing behaviors and taking their knowledge with them as they explore the zoo. During the remained of the year, K2 will be faced with science content and engineering challenges culminating in Mr. Andrews' favorite night of the year- Museum Night! Check out our K2 blog to see what we have been up to!
