Kaleidoscopes
During an in-class science lesson, the third grade created kaleidoscopes. Kaleidoscopes not only create really cool images but they also demonstrate the 4 different ways light can interact with different objects. The thick cardboard tube absorbs the light and prevents extra light from entering the tube. The mirror paper reflects the images to create an interesting pattern. The clear plastic lens transmits the light, allowing us to see the reflected pattern. The colored plastic pieces refract the light and create the different colors in the pattern. Check out our creations!
