Throw your hands up for the layers of the Earth!
As an introduction to our earth science unit, the fourth grade explored the Earth and its many layers. we talked about how the earth's crust is the layer where we live and it comprised of both land and water. We discovered that the crust is actually floating on the second layer of the earth, the mantle, because the mantle is made of liquid rock called magma. As we made posters to show the layers of the Earth, we listened to one of my favorite bands, Rhythm Rhyme Results, and their rap "The Layers of the Earth". Click here to listen to the song!
