Make it Roll!
This was an exciting day in KIDLAB. After being inspired by a video from the band OK Go! we created our own marble roller coasters. Using foam tubing (cut in half), paper towel tubes, buckets, stools and masking tape, we created tracks for marbles to roll down, around, and through. Starting on a chair on top of the table where the marbles would have the greatest energy, students worked in groups to connect the piping and created hills, turns, and loops. Because gravity always wants things to be near the ground, the marbles roll through the course and make their way to the bottom. Look at our creations!
