Going on this month in and around Boston...
Always happening in and around Boston...
* Looking for something science related to do out of school? The Harvard Natural History Museum in Cambridge, MA offers great after school, weekend and vacation programs for kids. Explore the galleries, examine specimens, and participate in activities led by museum educators. Check out the HNHM site for details.
* The Boston Museum of Science is fun for people of all ages. Younger scientists can explore the Discovery Center where they can find science activities and displays designed just for them. Older scientists will love the permanent exhibits like The Human Body Connection, Innovative Engineers, and Dinosaurs: Modeling the Mezozoic. Check out the Lightning! live demonstration in the Theater of Electricity, observe the stars and planets in the newly renovated Charels Hayden Planetarium or catch a show at the world renown Mugar Omni Theater. New exhibits and presentations are constantly rotating through so make sure to check out the MoS website for details.
*Boston Children's Museum exists to help children and families enjoy, understand and become active citizens in the world in which they live. With hands on centers, art projects, science experiments and live shows, learning comes alive for students of all ages. Check out Boston Children's Museum website for more details.
*At the Discovery Museums in Acton, MA children discover open-ended, interactive exhibits that encourage exploration and imagination. The Discovery Museum is comprised of two buildings on a 4-plus acre campus. At the Children's Discovery Museum, younger children (toddlers through the early grades) learn while they play. At the Science Discovery Museum, children and adults of all ages explore scientific concepts and hands-on creativity. Check out The Discovery Museum website for more details.
