Welcome to KIDLAB!
Hello friends and welcome to KIDLAB, a place where you can launch a rocket to the clouds, hold a sheep's brain in the palm of your hand, and journey to the center of the earth, all without leaving the classroom.
Did I get your attention? Want to know more?
KIDLAB is an art-based science class at Neighborhood House Charter School in Dorchester, MA. Part classroom, part art studio, part museum and part science lab, kids come down once a week to explore science in a completely different way. In the lab, students will do everything from paper mache a life-sized person to wiring lights for a model house. Some days we drop eggs from the top of the school while other days we are testing different minerals for their unique properties. We build, create, play, sing, read, dance, explore, dissect, eat- we pretty much do it all down here and all in the name of science.
And now you have the chance to see what we do in every day! Each grade has a page with lots to explore. To locate a grade, scroll to classes in the menu on the left side of this screen. There you will find each grade and links to its classroom blog and resources page. In the menu are also links to games, events, and announcements so you can keep having science fun outside of KIDLAB. And don't forget to visit our donations page where you can find a list of materials needed as well as projects that need funding.
Get ready to have your socks knocked off with all these scientists can do!
Best,
Ms. Olmsted and Scooter
