Egg Drop!
After learning about the engineering design method, students were told to "think like engineers" and design a way for an egg to be safely dropped from the second floor to the first floor. Using background knowledge, a little bit of research, some tips from the MythBusters and limited materials, students had 3 days to construct their egg drop vehicle. Although not all of our eggs made it through the fall, students learned the importance of the engineering design method and also had fun exploring gravity...and egg yokes...
