First Grade
This year in KIDLAB, the first grade learned about the four seasons, weather and experimented solids, liquids and gases. We had a great time! During our exploration of the four seasons, we took nature walks, looked at seasonal foods, and studied how animals adjust from season to season. When we investigated weather, students made weather instruments, like a wind vane and a rain gauge, to help them collect data. Out biggest unit was the unit on solids, liquids, and gases. Students learned how to classify objects based on its properties, learned how to measure and mix solids and liquids, and used new tools like pipettes and syringes to ask "what will happen if...?" First grade worked so hard. Click on the links to check out all of their hard work!
