The Three States of Matter
Up in the classroom with Ms. Baugher, the fourth grade did an in depth study of the water cycle. Down in KIDLAB, we jumped in on a molecular level. Through videos, class demos, and models, we discovered that molecules spread apart as they get heated and come together when they get cooled (we made the comparison: would you want to be really close to someone or really far from someone on a hot day? On a cold day?) Using cereal to represent our molecules of water, we showed what we learned.
